Baked Ziti With Chicken

Ingredients

– 1 lb ziti pasta – 2 tbsp olive oil – 2 chicken breasts, diced – 1 onion, chopped – 2 garlic cloves, minced – 1 jar marinara sauce – 1 tsp dried basil – 1 tsp oregano – 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded – 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated – Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Boil the ziti pasta according to package instructions. Drain, then set aside. Prepare a baking dish for assembly later on.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan with the chicken. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently for even cooking and flavor development.

Pour marinara sauce into the skillet with the chicken, onions, and garlic. Stir in dried basil and oregano. Let the sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes to meld the flavors.

Combine cooked ziti pasta with the sauce mixture, stirring gently to coat the pasta evenly. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste for the right balance of flavors.

Transfer the ziti and sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese generously on top to ensure even coverage.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
